Dear friends, supporters, and volunteers,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your hard work and support during my City Council campaign. I have been deeply moved to receive your encouragement and financial support in our quest to bring change to City Hall, especially by all of you who spent your precious free time calling voters, knocking on doors, stuffing envelopes, and doing everything you could to help make a better Oakland.

We have run a tremendous campaign over the last few months. Our message of high expectations, our message of a cooperative community, and our message of hope for a greater city is one that I think all of us will carry for five months and for five years.

Though they are counting ballots still, the outcome does not appear to be in our favor. I sincerely thank you for your enormous contribution to this campaign, and to this community.

Many of you, even others who did not support us, have come to ask that I remain active in this community. You may have heard that I will be changing careers to confront THE Civil Rights issue of our time, Marriage Equality, as I become the director of development for Equality California. Rest assured this is only one of the ways I will champion our concerns in the coming months.

I would like to share more of my plans to ensure a better future for ALL of us. I'd like to invite you to please join me at my campaign wrap-up/launch party on Thursday, June 19th 2008, from 6-8 PM, at the Washington Inn.

I really hope you can attend so I can thank you in person for your support.

Moving Forward,

Sean Sullivan
